​New Forest Karate Club

The New Forest Karate Club (NFKC) is born from Eastleigh & Southampton Karate Club, a well respected and family focused Shotokan Karate Club, which built an established community link regarding various charity fundraising events.  New Forest Karate Club is a non profit karate club, practicing traditional Shotokan Karate, serving Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst, Lymington, Sway and all surrounding Hampshire areas.
Karate lessons are led by nationally registered Karate Instructor Nigel Hosking (4th Dan) and supported with visits by selected Karate instructors from Karate Clubs within the Southern region. 

New Forest Karate Club welcomes all levels of ability and expertise (14 years and above), from complete beginners to experienced students.

​New Forest Karate Club Instructor

New Forest Karate Club is a family community club and welcomes beginners and experienced students of all abilities.
Nigel has been a student of Shotokan Karate for over 35 years and studied with a number of Japanese and European Sensei (Instructor). He visited Japan and Okinawa in 2000 and briefly trained at the Japanese Karate Association HQ in Tokyo. He holds the grade of Yon Dan (4th Dan) and has a rank of Karate registered in the UK and Japan. Nigel is an NHS Technical Instructor (Sports & Fitness) and registered with the Royal Association of Occupational Therapists www.rcot.co.uk
His ability to deliver traditional Shotokan Karate lessons is underpinned with a comprehensive understanding of physiology & anatomy, which he gained during his 24 years service with the NHS. His life of people experience and understanding of human development is enhanced with a background of teaching physical exercise to those with varied abilities. He is a registered Advanced Boxercise Instructor, a Fitness Coach with the NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) www.nasm.org holds a Sports First Aid Diploma and is registered with Register of Exercise Professionals www.exerciseregister.org

Nigel is a qualified Yoga Teacher and registered with the Yoga Alliance www.yogaalliance.org
​

Nigel has taught Shotokan Karate to students of various levels and successfully developed and guided several members of his Karate Club to Dan grade (black belt) level. He has initiated and organised a number of Karate fund raising events and he was presented with a special recognition award from the Japanese Karate Association in 2015.
